Writing on Paper is Easy, Getting an Input Through it - a Bit Harder
I managed to get the UVs I’m hitting and from them the 2D Vector for the location I’m supposed to be hitting on the 2D widget plane. Then I transformed that to the world coordinates. I drew a 3d sphere there to determine I’m getting the right location in my level. It took a lot of thinking and trial and error but I finally got the sphere to follow my cursor on the paper.
So if I know where to draw the sphere on the widget component, that should mean I know where to simulate the click.
I hope I’m close to finishing this with the paper and that my hover and click will go through to the widget. I thought this was going to be an hour or two tops, but has taken a better part of the week. For now. I already dread doing all this again with the book and hope I’ve memorized and documented everything I’ll need.
